De Kat Bergen op Zoom, G.M. Augustinus, vase
SOLD !
A vase from the pottery factory De Kat in a green color with a very refined glaze.
About the De Kat factory
The pottery factory was founded in 1902 by Govert Marinus Augustijn.
In 1918 the production ceased due to financial problems.
Augustijn had received his training as a potter at the factory Amstelhoek, where he carried out work by the designer Chris van der Hoef.
After his training, he returned to Bergen op Zoom to create art objects in the style of the Art Nouveau. Characteristic were the vases with a dark green glaze.
