A light gray earthenware vase produced by Chris Lanooy in his own studio, entirely in the style of Dutch art nouveau or new art.
About the artist:
Chris Lanooy (1881-1948) was not only a potter but also a pottery painter and worked at several pottery factories in the Netherlands. In 1907 he started his own pottery in Gouda and developed his own style.
He experiments with new techniques and glazes as an independent form of decoration.
He worked together with Jan Altorf.
In 1920 he moved with his studio to Epe.
From 1908 he also worked at the glass factory Leerdam for which he designed glass objects.
